Neurological Services

A neurologist who has time to think about you.

Comprehensive neurological evaluation, headache management, Botox for chronic migraine, and brain health assessment — with Dr. Joey Gee, a board-certified neurologist and fellowship-trained headache specialist with 20 years in Orange County.

Where It Starts

The comprehensive neurological evaluation

Every neurology and neuromodulation program at Meridian Neuro begins here: a 60–90 minute evaluation with Dr. Gee. Not a rushed fifteen minutes — a real appointment with time to take your full history, examine you properly, review prior records and imaging, and think.

You leave with a clear explanation of what's going on and an honest set of options — which may include treatment here, and may include the recommendation that something else serves you better.

Because we're a cash-pay practice, there are no prior authorizations and no insurance gatekeeping between you and the appointment. We coordinate imaging or nerve studies as needed.

What the evaluation covers

  • Complete neurological history and examination
  • Review of prior records, imaging, and treatments
  • Coordinated imaging or nerve studies as needed
  • A plain-language explanation of findings
  • An individualized plan — with honest alternatives
Specialty Focus

Headache management, from a headache specialist

Dr. Gee was the first AHS-sponsored Headache Medicine fellow at UC Davis and has spent 20 years treating headache disorders in Orange County. Migraine, chronic daily headache, and headache that hasn't responded to previous treatment are the center of his practice — not an afterthought to it.

Depending on your evaluation, your plan may include medication management, Botox for chronic migraine, navigated TMS (nTMS) if clinically appropriate, or coordination with therapies that address the neck and vestibular contributions to headache.

Injectable Therapy: Botox for chronic migraine

Botox (onabotulinumtoxinA) is an established, FDA-approved preventive treatment for chronic migraine — defined as 15 or more headache days per month. Administered by Dr. Gee, treatment involves a series of small injections around the head and neck, typically repeated every 12 weeks.

Whether Botox fits your situation is a clinical decision made at your evaluation. For some patients it's the primary plan; for others it's an honest alternative when nTMS isn't the right tool.

Brain health assessment

For patients focused on long-term cognitive health and performance, Dr. Gee offers a structured Brain Health Assessment — a proactive evaluation that establishes your cognitive baseline and identifies factors worth addressing now rather than later. Honest Scope

What we don't do

A focused practice serves you better when it's clear about its boundaries. Meridian Neuro does not provide:

Controlled substances

We do not prescribe opioids, benzodiazepines, or stimulants.

Longitudinal general neurology

We do not manage ongoing epilepsy care, MS disease-modifying therapy, or ALS follow-up. If that's what you need, we'll point you to the right place.

Emergency or acute care

For stroke symptoms, sudden severe headache, or any medical emergency, call 911 or go to the nearest emergency department.

Did You Know?

Some chronic headaches have a neck or vestibular component. When Dr. Gee identifies one, your plan can include neuro-vestibular physical therapy in the same location, with one coordinated team.
